Believe

I’m a really big believer that we all have this voice inside of us, and that voice is God talking to us, and we are all magical, and we all have something as specific to do as our fingerprint.  And everybody should go out and do that.  And I think between the ages of 15 and 32, don’t worry about getting married, don’t worry about settling down, don’t worry about having a baby.  Give birth to yourself.” -Kelly Cutrone

It never ceases to amaze me how words I use each and every day can be threaded together in such a way to send shivers down my spine. How ordinary words, placed in just the right sequence, reach past my mind and resonate deep within my soul.

Ms. Cutrone’s words struck a chord with me.

I, too, believe that we all have that voice inside of us. . . that voice of God.  I, too, believe we each have something specific to do.  Something we were created to do.  You have your “something” and I have mine. What I am coming to understand, though, is that life is about so much more than the start and the finish.  I believe that the journey is just as important, if not more important, than the destination.

I love the way the quote ends. . . “give birth to yourself”.

As strange as it may seem, this blog has been a sort of a birthing process for me.  A coming out.  Each step of the way my hands tremble and I wonder. . . is it worth it?  First writing, then taking pictures, and finally getting in front of the camera.  Each step has been a form of discovery–not only a discovery of who I am, but of what I believe.

And as I think about it, I don’t think this process will ever end.  Until I take my last breath, I think the discovery will continue.  The world is ever-changing, life is ever-changing, and truly, so am I.

So tonight, I guess I just want to say to the blog world, to my readers. . . thank you.  Thank you for being a part of my journey.

Love being part of your journey as it helps me on my own journey. Words are so important!!! How we say them, the tone we use, how the other person hears them.

Where do you get your quotes? Do you have a book????
