Five Things

It’s Friday and what a week it has been.  There have been earthquakes, hurricanes, tornado’s, political unrest, tearful first days of school, and all sorts of chaos in the world this week.  With that in mind I thought it was time for a lighthearted *happy* post.

How about it?  A list. . .

Five Things That Made Me Smile This Week

5.  Colors

This is Chanelle’s newest thing.  She can’t decide on one color so we must do them all.  She loves it and is insistent that we are careful to match both feet and that all the colors go in the same order.  Yep, my little girl is starting to develop her own style.  This is going to be fun to watch.

4.  Final Summer Days

As the summer days have come to a close I find myself searching for creative ways to spend our time.  Bike rides, parks, and sidewalk chalk have become less than appealing and I think my creativity has been sucked up by my pregnant lady brain.  Until, that is, we came up with this idea. . .

There is nothing wrong with making the local party story our playground, right?  At least that’s what I keep telling myself.  We buried ourselves in the back of the store while the kids tried on wolf masks, gladiator shields, and superhero capes.

Yeah, that was fun.

3.  Laughter

My sister visited this week and Chad captured this photo.  I love it because it’s the essence of us. . . laughter.  I’m glad that after all these years, we can still be silly.

2.  Little People

More and more as I watch my kids from a few steps back, I realize how much they are truly little people.  I watch them interact with their peers and listen to the conversations they have and I see them as they really are. They are not just kids they are real, little, people.

How cool is that?

1.  My husband

Truth be told, I am writing this entire post just so I could record this number one smile-producing incident.

(Pretend you hear a drum roll). . . The Number One Moment that made me smile (or laugh) this week. . . a conversation with my husband.

At 7 a.m. on Thursday morning I returned home from my run and had this text from my husband who listens to talk radio on his way to work in the a.m.

Chad:  Will Smith walked in on jada and marc Anthony. . . really?
Me:  I just saw something about that yesterday. . . they are denying rumors.  if it is true. . . she is NUTS.  Just sayin’.
Chad:  I would agree!  Just sayin. . . 🙂

Yeah, I love my husband. . . He makes me smile.

I love Chanelle's toe painting style. That is totally something E will do. I just know it.

Love the party store idea too. We often hit up the toy store in the winter to 'play'. No one ever seems to mind. 😉

p.s. I don't think we live too far from one another…we SHOULD meet up some time.ReplyCancel
