Pay Attention

There are times when I get caught up in the I’s, Me’s, and My’s of life.  Days when I jump from this task to that one only to reach one final goal. . .cross it off the list.

Days when I forget to live. . . I mean, really live.

I don’t like those days.

There are day’s when I need a reminder.  I need refocused.

Today was one of those days.

Tara Sophia Mohr’s words were the gentle reminder I needed. . . a breath of fresh air.

Breathe them in, Friends. . .

In The End

In the end
you won’t be known
for the things you did,
or what you built,
or what you said.

You won’t even be known
for the love given
or the hearts saved,

because in the end you won’t be known.

You won’t be asked, by a vast creator full of light:
What did you do to be known?

You will be asked: Did you know it,
this place, this journey?

What there is to know can’t be written.
Something between the crispness of air
and the glint in her eye
and the texture of the orange peel.

What you’ll want a thousand years from now is this:
a memory that beats like a heart–
a travel memory, of what it was to walk here,
alive and warm and textured within.

Sweet brightness, aliveness, take-me-now-ness that is life.

You are here to pay attention. That is enough.

**************************

You are here to pay attention.  That is enough.

Oh, I love that.

Today, I’ll be paying attention.

Ah, this reminds me of the book I'm reading. 'Have a little faith'…have you read it? Everytime I get a chance to read it, it reminds me of you. Lots of great, inspirational lines in it, much like your blog. 😉ReplyCancel

What a beautiful post… I needed this today.

I need this most days to be honest. It is so easy to get lost in the "have-to-get-dones" of every day. And each day goes so very fast anymore.

This is inspiring – thank you for sharing!ReplyCancel
