I have some time before going to work.  I should be working on this. . . This is my daughters closet and these are the clothes that she has outgrown. I really should have stored them away months ago.   Instead, we just keep piling them on and I say, I’ll do it tomorrow.  A […]

I so want to wear leg warmers. Having no clothes that fit well right now except for some leggings, that are just not that warm in the dead of winter, I want warmers to wear over them. To be a kid again.ReplyCancel

Hi Summer! I've been following your blog when I can. You are an amazing writer. I must ask, as I look at all your pictures and you finally comment about it, where do you shop for Chanelle? I love her outfits, including the leg warmers.

Your post about waiting hit home for me. We were in that same situation 2+ years ago and it's not a fun place to be. I've been praying for you.ReplyCancel

. . . my dad was born.  I love my Dad.  A lot.  I am among those blessed people who have a dad that is present.  Believe me, I don’t take that for granted.  There are so many things I could say about my Dad.  I could talk about his wonderful sense of humor or […]

I’ve debated for several days whether or not to write this post.  I get that there are some things that are probably not meant for the blog. . . but where do you draw the line?  It’s a personal decision, I suppose. When I began writing in this space I had no idea what it […]

When it rains, it pours. I watched Maya Angelou's show on OWN a couple of days ago, and she said, "There is always light behind the clouds. Find the rainbow." You're right, this will be okay. I hope to be reading your celebration post in 10 days.ReplyCancel

I've decided to memorize 24 Scriptures this year with my girl, Lily. This is the one we are memorizing right now. As I say it over the next week we will think of you and pray it for you, Summer. Please keep us informed on the outcome as well.

    Phil. 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."ReplyCancel

Hey, the other thing is that our pastor gave a great sermon yesterday on what we should be doing if God has us in a place of waiting. You may want to check it out if you have a good 1/2 hour or so. I just checked and they don't have it up on the website just yet, but it should be there in a day or so. The direct link to that page is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/MCChaudio

or you can just go to our church website where you can find it under "Chapelcast" on the right side. Just scroll down once you are on that page and it will be listed there. http://www.mapelcitychapel.org

    Love to you!ReplyCancel

‘Hello?’ Silence. . . ‘Hello?’ ‘Hi, Mommy.’ I was surprised to hear Charlie’s voice on the other end calling from my MIL’s phone.  She had just picked him up from school and they were on their way to meet Chanelle and I for lunch.  Charlie has some sort of aversion to talking on the phone, […]

I agree dear tears are ok!! And each stage they enter is cool. Its why God gave them to us. Its so cool that you will be able to remember these moments with your camera and blog. I wish I had kept better written records. I just read on FB that Darrick registered for his last college classes!!! What!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!! They are sweet I let her beat me at UNO today too:) You will be a parent for a very long time!!!.Love the PicsReplyCancel

  • Ky • twopretzels.com - January 21, 2011 - 2:13 pm

You know, Craig and I were talking the other day about parenting and about how we're both enjoying it FAR more than we had ever expected to. Sure, we thought it would be cool… but it's AMAZING.

I don't think we've ever SMILED as much as we do.

It might help that our toddler currently likes to walk around topless, wearing just "big girl underpants" and a bike helmet.

I loved this line: "I grieve the passage of each stage in a big way."

    I do the same thing.

    Yay for Charlie.

Yay for your tea party. (I liked the guests.)ReplyCancel

I like order.  I prefer structure.  I am better if every event, appointment, and outing is placed neatly on the calender in bold black letters. . . at least one week in advance.  I like to know what is coming, when it is coming, and what I need to do to be prepared for it.   […]

I, too, am a major control/clean freak. I find myself going through the list of 'rules' when we do projects and about halfway through, I actually 'hear' myself. What fun are all my rules to a 2 year old??? I'm still learning…

SO proud of you that you "let go of the control"!!!! That is one thing God has taught me in the last 13 years or so with the health issues. It doesn't have to be perfect, That sometimes there are more important things. Your friends/family won't care. They love you and won't judge you. If they do I am in trouble!! Love the art need some on my walls:)ReplyCancel

WHAT BEAUTIFUL pieces of magnificent art!
