I’ve talked about it before. . . my love for Fall.  The beautiful season that marks such a prominent transition in nature.  The season when leaves begin turning a vast array of brilliant colors that take my breath away.  I just adore this season.  Without fail, though, the colorful leaves slowly fall one by one […]

Thanks for the book info…I'm definitely going to pick that up. We lost a grandma last year that still has all of us (including my boys) very sad at times.

I just love how you seem to capture my own thoughts into such beautiful words! I,too, am a serial griever…nice to meet ya! ๐Ÿ™‚ReplyCancel

When you have kids. . . they are everywhere.  Teachable moments. Our latest topic?  Money. Charlie and Chanelle were each given $25 dollars for their birthdays.  Usually when they get money we put it in their piggy banks and they never really know (or ask) what happened to it.  This year I wanted to do […]

Such a great reminder!! I found it interesting that even so young they both show the traits of guys and girls, guys tend to weigh every option and try to figure out what's best (a lot of guys do this not all) and girls tend to figure it out quickly and figure out what is the best deal and how to stretch a dollar (not all girls but a lot) it's such a neat character study without prompting or coaching this is just how they are. Hopefully your frozen food turned out ok ๐Ÿ™‚ReplyCancel

Great job teaching your children the value of a dollar. Being a Finance dork, I can't wait to teach these lessons to my children. We've already started with S (at 2). If only you could, just as effectively, teach adults these important lessons…ReplyCancel

What a wonderful family you have. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love how each of their personalities came into play while they were shopping! (And I love the look of concentration on Chanelle's face in the reading picture. Ha!)ReplyCancel

I changed the header to the blog.  I’d like to say that I was cool and confident enough to have put it together in a matter of minutes without giving it a second thought. . . but I’d be lying.  I spent hours and even enlisted the help of my husband to get it just […]

I like the new header! I think it's both cool and quiet, sleek and elegant, not too busy or loud. Just like you, friend. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love you.ReplyCancel

Over the past few weeks we have discovered a new home away from home.  A place where as soon as we walk in the door people greet us with a smile and call us by name.  If all three of us don’t walk through the door the question is posed. . . “Where is Chanelle?” […]

Another day comes to a close and I am so exhausted I can almost feel the sweet softness of my pillow under my head.  My body wants to crawl into bed, close my eyes, and drift away to the silence of dreamworld. . . but I can’t. . . There is this other part of […]

I love how you turn everything around to be positive. I had a heck of a day yesterday and my patience ran super low. I think I'm going to start blogging my graces again. I need to remind myself of the small things in each day that are beautiful.ReplyCancel

    Hey Summer!

My mom often shares your blog with me and I'm always glad she does.

I don't know what that "something" is either… But as someone who is not yet a mother and still identifies strongly with being a child, that "something" rings very loudly.

Knowing that I was worth it to have those special sick days with my mom overwhelms me with love. That special mom love :o)

    Thanks for sharing.ReplyCancel
