When we woke up that morning we could hear the raindrop pounding on the window.  It only took about 2 minutes for the idea to be brought up:  Can we go play in the rain?  When I told them yes they raced for the door.  Unfortunately, before they could even turn the knob the rain […]

Just a couple of days ago I turned the final page on yet another year of my life.  As quickly as it came, I kissed thirty-two good-bye and welcomed in thirty-three.  It was a quiet day highlighted by by lunch with my MIL and my two favorite blondes.  We had a meeting that evening, but […]

Summer, first of all, I am an ice cream lover too which makes me love you even more! ; ) Secondly, may I highly suggest the book "So Long Insecurity; You've Been A Bad Friend To Us" by Beth Moore. There is a group experience workbook that goes with it and it is a wonderful companion–even if you are reading it on you own. I think you would LOVE it and would be a great addition to your life before baby #3 is born. God has used her words to make a HUGE impact on my life and my thought life. I can't recommend it enough. I read it over a year ago and now am leading a book study on Monday nights at my house to lead another 10 amazing women through it….and I'm loving it all over again for the second time. Bless you, my dear, and bless your 33nd year of LIFE!!!ReplyCancel

So glad that you realize like me that ice cream is the best way to get your dairy! Except not pumpkin, coffee toasted coconut, mango or Cold stone. Never say your not enough… You are! You have inspired me just with your words. Got a beautiful vase of flowers that were cut by two special people when I got to work.ReplyCancel

Just the other day I was sitting in the passenger seat of of the car next to Chad.  The kids were in the backseat and squealing with delight as the car slowly made its way through a car wash.  Water splattered the car and soap suds meandered their way down the windshield.  Out of the […]

“Oh, to be alive in such an age, when miracles are everywhere, and every inch of common air throbs a tremendous prophecy, of greater marvels yet to be.” -Walt Whitman Is it really August?  Have we seriously passed through two thirds of the summer months?  Wasn’t it just yesterday when we got the sprinkler out for […]

This reminds me of a quote my husband sent me this weekend:

"I choose to live, not just exist."

I will try? I know that being with my family makes me whole. But knowing that my two sons will be going to college and the other one to DC makes me wonder where the time went ESP being in TX this last week with my brother, sis, and six year old nephew. I know that your children add to the richness of my life and I miss them all. My friends make me whole. We all need to slow down and be in the momentReplyCancel

Our house is currently in a bit of disarray.  Charlie’s room has been cleared of all furniture as we prepare for the changes that will come with our newest family member. Our living room has become the storage spot for every item in Charlie’s room and I have spent my days turning a deliberate blind […]

I love this line: "I understand that it's not making big plans or taking grand trips. . . it is simply slowing down to see what is right in front of me. . . wherever I am." Perfectly said and oh so true.ReplyCancel

Well, we had all three kids in one room and it was already a light blue which worked okay to accent the boys stuff with in a boyish way and then Lily's stuff with it in a girlish way. You could do the same with brown or green too (like brown and pink on the girl's side and brown and green on the boy's side). Ours were young enough that it didn't really matter a whole lot on how to set up the room though–all their toys at that point were pretty much played with by both of them. Now it may be a bit more of a challenge. However you do it, Summer, it will look oh so cute for her and oh so cool for him because you are a mom who will make sure it does–I love that about you! : )

Here's a website that might help give you some tips…http://www.ehow.com/how_7309456_decorate-boy-girl-shared-room.html

Also, this one has AMAZING pictures that are pretty elaborate rooms, but maybe it would give some ideas because it would be pictures…I'm visual like you! : )
