How touching, Summer. You must be the luckiest woman in the world. I so wish I could have found that kind of love. ;-> But then, maybe it's just about what we choose to see. Hmmm …ReplyCancel

Also, thank you, Summer for the kind words!ReplyCancel

“Daddy is going to kill me.” I said through laughter as I watched the scene unfolding in front of me. Bubbles floating through the air.  Water shooting from one end of the living room to the other.  Giggles bursting out of the mouths of three little ones who were overjoyed at hearing the news that […]

I’ve hit a bit of a slump.  The well of creativity has run dry and I find myself parched and thirsty for new ideas, fresh creativity, and well, a little excitement.  I’m pretty certain that it’s the weather that is getting to me.  Cloudy days, cold temperatures, snow, wind, ice, rain. . . Oh, Ohio. […]

i have an idea! if you can stand the possible (hopefully small?) increase in the heating bill, how about a beach day? picnic on a blanket inside? crank up the heat, get the bathing suits on, a dollop of sunscreen on the face, some fruity smoothies, pretend sand castles???

that's literally all i've got! it sure beats splashing in 30 degree puddles, no? 🙂 hang in there.

This is hysterical! Ah, the baby of the family always gets painted 🙂

The above idea is awesome! I assume room cleaning and laundry folding is out of the question?

How about roller skating/roller blading/bike riding in the garage?

Have you checked Pinterest? Always good for an idea or a spark of an idea.

I love the roller skating idea. How fun! Though the room cleaning sounds even better. 🙂

Oh Pintrest. . . I've been "clean" from Pintrest for over a year. Seriously, it sucks my life away. I know it's a good resource, but it's just way too easy to spend my whole life there. 🙂 Maybe I'll set a timer?? ReplyCancel

I remember those days being trapped inside and no where to go or things to do. One afternoon when it wears about 20 degrees, I cranked up the heat, put on the Beach Boys and told the kids to put on their swimsuits and goggles. I filled our garden tub full of warm water, spread out their beach towels and they "swam" the cold day away. They still talk about it. Hang in there, and I'll meet you in Florida, too!ReplyCancel

What fun! I think I'm going to give this idea a try, Katie. Love it!ReplyCancel

  • Ky | TwoPretzels - March 5, 2013 - 8:38 pm

    Florida IS the answer. 😉

Life is far too short to be freezing. 😉

But, I know your pain all too well. Believe it or not, there's a time in Cabo when it is SO HOT that we cannot BEAR to go outside without sizzling. That's our "winter." I get it.

But seriously, Ohio is too cold.
    Move. 🙂ReplyCancel

Tonight I come to this space hesitantly.  I ask Chad, what should I write about? He asks, what do you want to write about? Silence. I know the answer, but I evaluate.  I stand back.  I look it over.  I ask myself. . . Have I been too serious?  Time for some lighter stuff?  I […]

hi, sumo. march. oh, march. i know it must definitely heighten those feelings of joy and pain. i think you're right. i think that without that much pain you can't experience the height of joy either. i hate it, but i embrace it, too.

i wish she could see all of it an be with you to experience the "you" and the "we". i'm also so thankful that you share it with us (the world). i was tearing up at your words but also at those beautiful photos. i absolutely love how little Meadow looks next to Chad.

i love you. i am thinking of you. i wish i could carry just a little bit of your sadness. but you are strong my friend, for reasons you shouldn't have to be.
    much love,

Don't you wish you could just have one day for her to meet Meadow, see you as the mom/wife/photographer you are now? I like to think that she is just getting a "bird's eye" view now, which is so much more complete anyway, right??!! It was 12 years in January. What I wouldn't give for one day….ReplyCancel
