Today Charlie and Chanelle had their first track practice.  We travel about 40 minutes to the track so there can be no last minute rushing to get to practice on time.  I was feeling quite pleased with myself as I finished feeding them a quick dinner, got them changed into track gear, packed the diaper […]

Love this! Seems like yesterday we were both announcing our pregnancies.

She sounds so much like V. He only has eyes for Mama too…and adores Sophia. I love how you can start to see her personality blossom.ReplyCancel

Oh my goodness, your daughter is SO adorable! That face and those cheeks…..SO CUTE!

And how sweet that she just adores her big brother 🙂

I remember when Henry was 3 months old we got him all ready to leave to go get our Christmas photos taken and we went to put him in his car seat and he had a blowout all over his Christmas outfit!!

I just had my first child 8 months ago and I have been AMAZED each month how much his personality is coming out! Every couple weeks he is becoming so much more fun! Love it.ReplyCancel

I was compelled to jump over from Kelle Hampton's blog just now as I read your description of losing your Mum. I am coming up to our 1st year without mine and your words resonated. Regardless of whether your comment is posted on ETST, thank you for taking the time to share!ReplyCancel

    Anonymous,

I'm not sure that you will ever return to see this, but if you do I wanted to say my sincerest thank you for stopping by sharing your words. Without a doubt, you just made posting on Kelle's blog worth it.

Also, I want to say I'm so sorry for your loss. So very sorry. I wish you all the best as you approach the one year mark and continue to wade your way through the waves of grief. I know there are no words, but know that you are not alone on the journey.ReplyCancel

Nobody else can be alive for you. . .   -E.E. Cummings Oh, I love that one, don’t you?  Words, words, beautiful words.  As simple as these seven words are, the impact is profound.  I read them and a flame ignites from within and I’m confronted with the question. . . what are you going […]

I have a dream buried in the deep recesses of my soul.  It is a dream that I visit from time to time and each time a smile is brought to my face and a fire in my soul.  The dream is far-reaching and really the chances are slim that it will ever happen.  But […]

Ahhh Summer you have me with tears at work (again).

Such a beautiful post!!! I've learned that my friendships are worth fighting for, worth the extra effort, my girls are worth it.

I agree guys don't have the same kind of friendship. For them it's a different dynamic.

Thank you for your beautiful share!ReplyCancel

  • mommathieszen - May 4, 2012 - 11:58 am

Tears here too. I'd really like to be in that room with you and all those other women…I bet many of us would be thanking you right back for your friendship, your heart, your willingness to let us come along beside you on your ride of life. Bless you sister. Now I just want to hug some of my favorite girls too!ReplyCancel

    Yep. Now I'm crying, too.

Sweet friends, even the words, "you are such a treasure" don't even really communicate how MUCH of a treasure you are.

Summer, you have a gift… your way with words… it kindly extends a hand and creates a connection between our hearts.

I'm so glad I know you and can call you friend.

love that little tongue sticking out on your guy. and the red toenails. and little Meadow's cute face. and that May is here and the juicer is out.ReplyCancel

  • Sassytimes - May 2, 2012 - 12:27 pm

I love your analogy of May to an appetizer. I agree it's the best part of a meal at times. As I get older, I appreciate the appetizer seasons more. I love the build up.

Meadow in the frills…the tutu skirt…I think I just fell in love with her for V. She is so sweet! (E is wearing the matching brown flower dress that M is wearing in the sitting photos today. It's my favorite.)

I'm glad you blog and that I've 'met' you. 😉ReplyCancel

  • Ky • twopretzels.com - May 4, 2012 - 8:38 pm

There is so much to comment on in this post!

I just put your juicer in my Amazon wishlist folder. I totally want one. FUN!

I LOVE knowing that you have a pop-related weakness. (As I sip my coca-cola classic.)

Your 365 project is awesome. Do you store it on flickr?

Red. The photo of your TOES… OMG. I love it.

I need to do a similar photo with my girls. I hope you don't mind. I can't believe we've never painted Vivi's toes…

ALL THAT TULE on Meadow is too much. I see SO much of Charlie AND Chanelle in her…

Chanelle and the piano makes my heart leap out of my chest. Our first major purchase when we move back to the states is an upright, functioning piano that I can paint yellow. And that my girls can learn on.

    GREAT post.ReplyCancel
