I usually write at night.  After little ones are in bed and the house falls into silence, coming to this space is like dotting my i’s and crossing my t’s.  Like putting the bow on a beautifully wrapped present, closing my day in this space just makes everything feel more complete.  Last night, however, I […]

I love Meadow's "why would you do that!?!" face. So cute.

Looks like all these little moments are so fun! So, did Charlie just do half day K? Sophia is all day. ๐Ÿ™ I'm sad already and it's still a year away…

I have no doubt you and your girls will fill your days with so much fun and joy! ReplyCancel

I applaud you for ALL all the wonderful opportunities that you have given to your children this Summer! AND your photos are so much fun because they tell the stories so well. I giggled when I saw the photo of Meadow looking down at her siblings and then giggled again when I read your commentary ("why would you do that?". ๐Ÿ™‚

ALSO– the family reflection photo was cool! What a good looking family. You guys are awesome!

Glad you have had a great summer, and as usual, fabulous photos! My little ladies start 1st grade (all day school) in two weeks and we are trying to squeeze every last bit of summer fun into these two weeks. (sniff, sniff) Oh, how I will miss them. I guess I can get back to blogging with all of my free time ๐Ÿ™‚ Missed your blog this summer too, I have lots to catch up on!ReplyCancel

. . . but some things seem worth a blog post.  This was an email I was about to send to my friend, Two Pretzels.  Just as I was about to hit the “Send” button, I thought a public blog-style birthday celebration was necessary.  Kylee, this one is for you. . . I went to […]

I have the chills from my fingertips to my toes – REALLY. (I didn't even know I could have the chills on my fingertips.) Summer, sweet Summer, while I don't think I deserve those words — I'm appreciative. And if I had a little something in you creating THIS place, well — that pleases me. Truthfully, that makes my heart grow a little.

I love you, sweet friend. Thank you for this.ReplyCancel

I’ve been anticipating it for months.  I’ve been counting down days, planning activities in my head, and dreaming of one of life’s most precious gifts. . . time. Chad took last week off work and we escaped town for a few days.  We went to the place that I still call home even though it […]

I'm so happy you got to enjoy so much family time. Your kids look so happy. I LOVE Meadow's big excited smile. So cute!

    And I love this:

I guess what life has taught me (and continues to teach me) is that rain will fall on us all. It's inescapable. Sometimes life hurts. It can be heart wrenching and soul crushing. But somehow, even though I don't understand exactly how, it is the hard times and the challenges and the doubts and the questions that teach what we are really made of.

So true. You are an amazing person. I am in awe of your continual positive attitude.

I love how you write. You're not afraid to put your feelings out there. I struggle with that, putting myself out there, the Real Me, but you do it so gracefully. I agree 100% with what you say about hard times being the best teacher.

I hope you have a wonderful full week this week, Summer! It's our last one as well. Here's to getting dirty and sweaty and laughing till your belly hurts!ReplyCancel

You're so right that rain is inescapable in life, and that sometimes that rain really hurts. Yet somehow, the rain makes our moments in the sunshine that much more appreciated and beautiful. This was a lovely post, Summer. I'm so glad you and your family had such a wonderful time away. ReplyCancel

Oh this post had me crying from the beginning. First the sadness of being without your mom but then to a happy cry seeing your beautiful and happy family and knowing it is all intertwined.

In the little I have known you on this blog I have admired your positive attitude and your ability to try to cherish and enjoy every moment. When you lose someone close to you I think it makes you cherish all those times and people in your life even more. It it looks like you are doing just that and are a wonderful mom.

I am glad you had stories to tell and share! And these pictures were amazing….beautiful family.ReplyCancel

What is 70 percent of 30? I just asked Chad. Nine, he answered.  Why? I have no idea, I answered with tears streaming and laughing hysterically, I just pulled that question out of the air.  That probably doesn’t sound very funny to you, but I could not stop laughing.  I really did have a specific […]

Oh my, that last photo of Meadow is the cutest thing EVER! I hope my children never distort their own image too. Something I worry about often; especially my girls.

    p.s. 70% of 30 isn't 9. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It's 21. 30% of 30 is 9. The 'nerd'/teacher in me could't let that go. Sorry. ๐Ÿ˜‰ReplyCancel
