. . .you did something for the first time? I rarely (if ever) post on a Saturday.  I saw this question and it got me thinking. . . How long has it been?  I’m a girl of routine, structure, predictability.  Sometimes, I need shaken out of the comfort. . . out of the routine. Where […]

    I adore that picture…

Hmmm… this is a great question.
I need to think about it.

  • SnappyTulip - August 28, 2011 - 1:55 am

We have coconut milk. I am not a big fan. I got it on sale and decided to try it. I froze 5.5 cups of it and will use it in baked goods or something. Didn't want to waste it.
My first time thing lately…prepare for a hurricane. I know its boring.

Just 3 weeks ago…I drove by myself and my 3 boys from Seattle, WA back home to Maumee, OH. Had to drop my husband off in Seattle to fly home due to work and got to check off something from my "bucket list" and it was an AMAZING experience! One that I can't wait to do again!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ReplyCancel

I've thought about this question all weekend. I'm a creature of habit. ๐Ÿ™

I did, however, spray paint for the first time a few weeks ago. I've painted things a zillions times, but never spray painted. It was surprisingly fun. I ended up spraying a lot of things for the baby's room.

Today, I'm going to attempt to use a power drill for the first time ever by myself (to hang hooks in S's room). I'm scared…let's hope I don't put random holes in the wall, or myself. ๐Ÿ˜‰

…and I 'may' meet a stranger for the first time ever some time soon. Half way would be perfect. We are in southern MI; near the OH border.ReplyCancel

My life has been full of a lot of "firsts" lately, since we're expecting our first bambino. ๐Ÿ™‚ By far my favorite one was hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time at 7.5 weeks!

(Coconut milk and coconut water sound kind of gross. Sorry, Miss. :))ReplyCancel

It’s Friday and what a week it has been.  There have been earthquakes, hurricanes, tornado’s, political unrest, tearful first days of school, and all sorts of chaos in the world this week.  With that in mind I thought it was time for a lighthearted *happy* post.  How about it?  A list. . . Five Things […]

I love Chanelle's toe painting style. That is totally something E will do. I just know it.

Love the party store idea too. We often hit up the toy store in the winter to 'play'. No one ever seems to mind. ๐Ÿ˜‰

p.s. I don't think we live too far from one another…we SHOULD meet up some time.ReplyCancel

Here is another blog I follow, Summer, of a photographer in Denver. She has done some brilliant shots of the outdoors in CO. She has a website for just her photography business too, but this is her personal blog that I've seen some of her work on. She offers what she calls "Click Classes" where some ladies go to her class to learn about their cameras so I bet she would be an interesting person to get some wide angle tips from. Here's the link: http://khphotography.net/blog/

I have no doubt you'll do GREAT! Blessings, AngieReplyCancel

  • lisa - August 25, 2011 - 12:37 pm

Awesome!! You'll have no problems at all…you have a great eye already! I love my wide angle…does it have a lower f-stop for great macro shots too? (mine is 2.8 and I love playing with it…gets some good bokeh too!)
Yeah for you!! I'm soo excited to see some of your future endeavors!

    congrats!ReplyCancel

Summer, Congrats on the new lens. I do almost all of the photos for our company website and all I photograph are homes. I think the most important thing to consider is lighting and time of day when your photographing exteriors/landscapes. You ideally want great photos with out any harsh lighting or shadows. I'm not sure what type of landscapes you will be photographing, commercial/residential but take lots of photos. You can always delete the ones you don't like.

if you have any questions please ask.

@Lisa. . I spent Saturday with Light Room and LOVE IT.

@Craig. . . thanks so much for the open door for questions. I may be contacting you. I believe I will be doing both residential and commercial landscapes. I'm hoping to shoot in the morning. I'd love to see your website and take a look at your photos.ReplyCancel

Oh, this made me tear up. It makes me think of S starting preschool in a few weeks. She's scared too. I keep telling her it's okay, like you said, because Mama is scared too (I am). We will be scared together…and then excited together…and then share in the fun of it all together. I love your last quote. I need to start reciting that to S.ReplyCancel

O look at the positive side. How they will continue to grow into who God wants them to be. As much as we sometimes want to hold them back that is not why God gave them to us in the first place. It will be exciting, sometimes sad, sometimes scary but remember they are Gods and all we can do is love them, pray, and show them the way. And it's ok to cry even when they leave for college and beyond. And soon that little one will be here for us all to love.ReplyCancel
