One of the coolest parts of my job is the opportunity I am given to learn about people.  I enjoy hearing about what makes people tick. How their experiences have shaped them.  What they hope for and dream about.  I enjoy trying to understand how they think. There are times, though, when the people I […]

    I enjoy your random thoughts.

I think you'll do amazing photographing landscapes…believe in yourself; you'll do awesome!

I'm glad baby is okay! Take it easy…can you believe only 2 months left?!?! Wow, huh?ReplyCancel

Summer, you will do an awesome job taking pics! Do not doubt! School is fun to hear all about how they are growing and maturing into their own. Their friends etc. I will take Chanele with me to make mashed potatoes. And so glad that problem was fixed and will pray that baby turns. Take care. Love youReplyCancel

i hung in – the entire time!

    yay!! for new adventures.

yay!! for the thought of you standing on your head.

BOO!! for having to stop running, but it's BEST (so follow the doctor's orders)

yay!! for pretty pink flowers and kitchen helpers and your helpful assignments to your clients and little boys who like school and for parents restricting their kids from the fair (all the while knowing it will land them in therapy).

keep us updated on the landscaping stuff.ReplyCancel

Hey, I think the standing on your head thing may work…actually I think it's on your hands and knees. Scrub those new floors you have everyday and I bet he/she will turn over!
I don't know for sure but a friend did do some exercises and hers turned around…
Sorry about the running-it's amazing you can run this far into it!ReplyCancel

This morning I sat in church captivated by images and sounds that, ten years later, still take my breath away.  In the darkened room I was mesmerized as I watched the scenes from NYC and was instantly transported back ten years.  Not a movement was made nor an utterance heard from the near one thousand […]

I think our small, simple moments DO matter. They make OUR history.

There was a show on the History Channel last night about the people with random cameras who caught a lot of the footage of that morning. It was very interesting to hear their perspective and why they grabbed their camera and couldn't put it down. Most felt like they just 'had' to, like they had little control over it. Very, very interesting. I can't even imagine.ReplyCancel

I think taking pics is a good thing. To help us remember. Those stories and pics of ten years ago will forever be. In our minds. Watching Charlie smile through his game being with his friends is important to remember. We think we will but we don't always. Another good reason to write down things. I had to wonder if it was harder for those who lost loved ones or if it helped the healing. I love taking pics and want to learn more about taking good pics like you. It is part of the family history we hand down to our childrenReplyCancel

“A writer must say yes to life, to all of life: the water glasses, the Kemp’s half-and-half, the ketchup on the counter.  It is not a writer’s task to say, “It is dumb to live in a small town or to eat in a café when you can eat macrobiotic at home.”  Our task is […]

“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” -Ansel Adams I captured this photo over the weekend.  It is not the greatest picture I’ve ever taken, nor is it anywhere near technically perfect.  There is something about it, though, that has drawn me […]

    I'm not kidding.

    Summer: wow.ReplyCancel

I’m trying to catch my breath–literally and figuratively.  It seems that the emergence of fall has also filled our calender with constant running and  going and doing.  As one who prefers stretches of peace in the comfort of our home, I’m doing my best to get my bearings and calm my mind as I adjust […]

What is it about Fall? Our calendar is jam packed too, and as a homebody, it's starting to stress me out. I need calm between the chaos…or maybe it's just preparing me for 3 babies???

You look amazing. You wear pregnancy well.

I love your floors. They did a great job!

Umm…that dog is super cool. The bat, gross. We used to ALWAYS get them in our house as kids. To this day, they creep me out big time. Ew.ReplyCancel

The floors are awesome and make a huge difference! You are so cute pregnant I was a round ball. Time is going fast and slow. Can't wait to meet the little one and snuggle. Chad–awesome job on the floor! Way to go! Summer–I think we may be the same size right now–you in your 3rd trimester and me in the aftermath of 3 babies…

I also love the dog in the pink glasses–you just couldn't have planned that! Awesome! : )ReplyCancel

    1. You look gorgeous. I thank you for being HONEST about pregnancy. So few feel comfortable enough to be. Loved this line, "Two prior pregnancies have taught me something, though. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the battle is worth it. "

    Amen, sista.

    2. Your floors look incredible. Love them. LOVE them. Easy to clean? Can you see the dust on them? They look great.

Oh, geez. Comment cut short. Lila's up from her nap crying.

    I'll be back.

But quickly – that bat is terrible.ReplyCancel
